Chozhas temple build with 20,000 slaves


Rajendra  Chozha’s Gangai Konda Chozha puram and Tanjore Pragatheeswarar Temple
The king Raja Raja Chozhan and Vananamadevi son was Rajendra Chozhan who was get victory in the wars up to Gangai. So he was built a Gangai Konda Chozhan Puram capital with the Ganga water and it is the capital of the Chozha emperor till A.D 1044. He gets triumph in the wars consequently he build a huge temple and it was sculpture by the 20.000 prisoners and it takes 20 years but the Rajendra Chozha died when the temple work was not fully completed. The name of the temple is Tanjore Prakatheeswarar temple.
After his death the temple work was finished during the Pandian monarchy period and the paint was given at the Nayakkar period this was stated in the stone sculpture. The temple is 186 feet height and the Lord Siva is the worshipped god by the monarchy.  The Lord Siva sculpture is made by the one stone which has 13.5 feet and the width 60 feet. There is a jar upon the Lord Siva sculpture which is pour Ganga water from the jar. The temple west side there is a lake that was 724 acres occupied the Ganga water is mixed in the water. The temple inside temperature modified during the season when winter season the temple karuvarai is light hot but when summer season the karuvarai would be cold that was cause by the Chandakanth stone this was pasted inside the temple.
 The temple age is above 1000 years still its very beauty the sculpture is depicted accurately and the statue ornaments are followed by the current goldsmith to create an ornament. There is a Nanthi sculpture which was about 400 feet distant and the sunlight was reflecting on the Nandhi face to Lord Siva statue temple. The temple shadow was not happen in the temple. There is a Navaghiraha sulputure is depicted in the same stone and it is like a lotus sculpture. The compound walls are more than 6 feet width. There is a Singamuga pond and it was used for the monarchy family women this is not seen outside. This temple is under the Central government custody of archeology. Now the temple has been renovated about 85 crores.
